JAROWIT - Jarowit - God of war, worshiped in Wołogoszczy and Hobolinie. Etymology of his name to the ravine, or "strong, strong, fast" and wit - "you". By the historian Herborda equated with Mars. The convergence in the sense of names, as well as the function of the two deities of war led some historians to pose the hypothesis that Jarowit and Świętowit are one and the same deity. His temple in Wołogoszczy was destroyed in 1128 by Bishop Otto. The temple was located, which is an attribute of God, the great size of disk covered with gold plates, which Insomuch only for the duration of the war that ensured victory. People feared the bishop of the crowd that had gathered outside and elevating the shield from the temple, they tried to hide behind it. When people saw a moving target, fell in front of her face according to the chronicler, thinking that it lifted her Jarowit himself (in fact, probably because of the sacrilege committed), thereby allowing the escape of the people of the bishop. Earlier, in Hobolinie, Otto found the crowds celebrated the spring festival in honor of Jarowita.
MIESZKO - Mieszko I (ca. 930 25 May 992),was a Duke of the
Polans from about 960 until his death. A member of the
Piast dynasty, he was son of
Siemomysł; grandchild of
Lestek; father of
Bolesław I the Brave, the first crowned King of Poland; likely father of
Świętosława (Sigrid), a Nordic Queen; and grandfather of her son,
Cnut the Great. The first historical ruler of
Poland, Mieszko I is considered the
de facto creator of the Polish state. He continued the policy of both his father and grandfather, who were rulers of the pagan tribes located in the area of present
Greater Poland. Either through alliances or by use of military force, Mieszko extended the ongoing conquests and early in his reign subordinated
Kuyavia and probably
Gdańsk Pomerania and
Masovia. For most of his reign, Mieszko I was involved in warfare for the control of
Western Pomerania, eventually conquering it up to the vicinity of the lower
Odra River. During the last years of his life he fought the
Bohemian state, winning
Silesia and probably
Lesser Poland.

STRZYGA - A strzyga (Polish pronunciation:
[ˈstʂɨɡa]) is a female demon a bit similar to
vampire in
Slavic (and especially
Polish) folklore. People who were born with two hearts and two souls and two sets of teeth(second one barely visible) were believed to be strzygas. Furthermore a newborn child with already developed teeth was also believed to surely become one. When strzyga was recognized it was chased away from human habitat. Strzygas usually were dying at young age, but only one soul gets passed on, and the other soul caused the deceased
strzyga to come alive and prey upon other living beings. Those undead creatures fly at night in a form of an owl and attack night-time travelers and people who simply wander off into the woods at night, sucking out their blood and eating out their insides.

Sulima Coat of Arms, was a Polish
knight and
nobleman. He served as a soldier and diplomat under the Polish king
Władysław II and Hungarian-Bohemian king
Sigismund of Luxembourg. During his life, he was regarded as a model of
knightly virtues and was renowned for winning multiple
tournaments. His nickname is due to his black hair and his custom-made, black armor, which is kept at the
Jasna Góra Monastery. In 1410 he took part in the
Battle of Grunwald against the
Teutonic Order.
